Musical isolation singalong

TIME AT HOME

Getting back to my Music - it has always helped me through the hard times and when I'm listening to music or singing along I don't feel isolated.

I'm going to devote a few posts to that effect so won't reveal all too soon. My goal is to take you along with me  - just need you to put up with some Technical Challenges.

Step 1 - sort out the CD's - Phew!!  Fortunately, just at this time, I was able to sort through some CD'S from friends and was able to refresh my favourite but slightly tired collection.  So an added incentive to the sort was where I was going to put the new CD's.  I know many BB have clever ways of doing away with them altogether but...

Step 2  - Classification - a mini nightmare - but I finally settled on Classical | Groups | Male Singers | Female Singers |  Misc.  After adding a few labels here and there to help with navigation I feel ready to resume a musical journey.

I love Bette Midler's amazing energy and wonderful sensitive delivery of some of the best songs. Below the video is a u-tube link to one of my favourites.

To play,  highlight the link above, Right click on it, then click on Go to https://youtu.be/zxSTzSEiZ2c on the dropdown menu which will take you to UTube, click on 'Skip Ad' and then the play arrow.  Sing along!

Cheers Clara
ps - a musical bonus is to click on any of the songs in the rt hand panel - eg Celine Dion & Josh Groben - live - The Prayer'.
pss The net is a great timewaster!

Time to step back and breathe ... or SING

Hi there

To quote Wendy  Squires  March 22 SMH 'There is a sliver of a silver lining to this catastrophe'   "Time to step back and breathe - while we centre our existences around home and hearth as self-isolation becomes imperative.  And this could provide a valuable opportunity for us all to stop and take stock..."  I agree with Wendy when she concludes with a suggestion that we take time to reboot, beginning with being kind to ourselves and others.

I'm passing on Leunig's thoughts re doing something we haven't done for years.  'Singing in the Trees' seems like a great place to start.  I'd appreciate it if anyone has a fun singalong link or playlist to share.

Cheers Claire
